Argentina is after Brazil the second largest country in South America. It has a surface of 2.8 million qkm and is therefore only a little smaller than India. Argentina is characterised particularly by its large cultural variety and its six geographical regions. Bolivia with its 1,098,000 qkm is about as large as France and Spain together. It is not a highly populated country as it only has about 7.9 million inhabitants. Brazil is the 5th largest country on earth. With its 8.5 million square kilometres it takes nearly half of South America. If you are going to travel to Chile, you will se: In the North is the most arid desert in the world; in the Centre there are Mediterranean landscapes; in the South, forests and lakes; in the Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, fiords, glacier fields and stormy pampas; and in the Antarctic, eternal whiteness. Chile is the ideal country for adventure travel. Peru is the symbol for everything that has to do with the mystical empires, which ever saw the light of the world and had their centre here in the Andes. Venezuela is the clear waters of the Caribbean; the purity of the Amazonas, the peaceful beauty of the Andes; the animal life of the central Plains; the magnificence of the Guayana highlands.

Ronny, our pilot, flies generous detours at low flight level providing excellent opportunities to photograph the Pantanal from bird-eye-view. At the ranch, here called Fazenda, you will be greeted with a traditional Caipirinha by your hosts, who will personally take care of you during your stay with them. After lunch and relax, you are ready to explore the area next to the Fazenda in search for wildlife. The Fazenda is situated among the Vazante do Castelo one of the largest of the Pantanal. The so-called vazantes are lakes and ponds formed by the retrieving waters that flooded in the rainy season most parts of the land. They give the landscape the characteristic appearance that is generally associated with the Pantanal and are the last remaining water resource for the animals during the dry season. Here you can observe plenty of diversified wildlife concentrated in one area. Overnight.
