• The Galapagos Explorer II is fully equipped to minimize possible impacts on the Archipelago
• All soaps, detergents and shampoos used on board are biodegradable
• Black and gray waters are treated appropriately. The residual water is filtered and purified with ozone
• Water is produced on board utilizing a desalinization plant by reverse osmosis
• Since each island has its particular species of flora and fauna, the introduction of animals can create serious disrupts in their ecology. Ironically, ships are the best way of transportation to animals, lured by their bright lights. Therefore, we have installed pale yellow lights in our ship, according to the Charles Darwin Research Station's recommendations, to minimize this ris
• Paper and non-toxic solids are incinerated; metal cans are compacted and together with non-biodegradable trash, returned to town. Biodegradable waste is ground into fine particles and eliminated in open waters according to the regulations of the Galapagos National Park Service
• With groups restricted to a maximum of 15 passengers per group, we expect to reduce both, physical and visual impacts on the islands
• Passengers have at their disposal three wastebaskets used for proper sorting of recyclable waste
