Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Lima
Arrival in Lima. You are picked up from the airport and brought in the Hotel El Condado, where a welcome cocktail and a short preliminary talk expect you.
Day 02: Lima City tour
The morning is free. In the afternoon you will start a city tour of Lima. First you visit the old part of town of Lima, the most important objects of interest as well as beautiful examples of colonial architecture: The central place with the president palace, the basilica and the city hall. In addition you visit the San Francisco church, the cathedral and the catacombs. Afterwards you are going to visit the gold museum. The gold museum saves an astonishing and unique collection of gold ornaments of different pre-Spanish Andes cultures. You will see priceless articles and jewels, which were made by goldsmiths, whose works are seen in the whole world. Furthermore there are important materials from the Pre-Inca time are exhibited and a large and interesting collection of weapons from the whole world. Overnight at the Hotel El Condado. B/-/-
Day 03: Lima - Juliaca – Puno
In the morning you are brought to the airport and fly to Juliaca. Here you will be picked up and taken to your hotel in Puno (3,827 meters). On the way you will visit the Sillustani Necropolis consists of cylindrical graves, which are 10 to 13 meters high and strategically thought-out situated on the bank of the Lago Umayo, a place of outstanding beauty. Archaeological studies resulted in that these graves were established with the order to burry there the members of the higher social class of the Collas - an Aymara group from the Pre-Inca time. Their architectural forms are contrary to all rules of the statics, since the graves have a narrower diameter down at the soil, as above. Overnight at the Hotel Posada del Inca Yuncay. B/-/-
Day 04: Puno - Titicaca Lake - Amantani Islands
In the morning you will be picked up and taken to the Titicaca Lake, where you start today’s excursion. The first goal you have, are the swimming islands from the Uros. This island is built from Totora reed. One speaks of the fact that the today's inhabitants descend from the oldest peoples of South America. The trip leads you further to the Amantani Island, which lies in the Titicaca Lake and where you also stay overnight. The inhabitants of this island are the Aymara. They are from ethnical criteria of great importance, since they retained their ancient customs, which serve again as models for the Inca society. Since there are no hotels you spend the night in the houses of the island inhabitants. Although the furnishing is appropriate for the basic needs only, nevertheless they are sufficient for the requirements of the tourists. B/L/D

Day 05: Titicaca Lake - Islands – Puno
Early in the morning you make a boat tour on the Titicaca Lake and investigate the area between the islands Amantani and Taquile. You make then another guided excursion to Taquile and have the remaining morning free. You can still enjoy the local customs and habits of the people, as well as the beautiful view of the Andes. Then you return to Puno. Overnight at the Posada del Inca. B/L/-
Day 06: Puno - Andes train – Cusco
Transfer to the railway station the "Tren de los Andes", for a spectacular train ride through the Altiplano. Trips to Cusco leave only Tuesday, Thursday and on weekends. Another possibility is to be driven by bus to Cusco. That is not only faster, but also much more comfortable and you can make a stop at archaeologically interesting places for a short excursion. At Cusco (3,399 meters) you arrive late in the afternoon. Transfer to the Hotel Picoaga. B/L/-
Day 07: Cusco - Q'oricancha - fortresses – Tambomachay
Today's morning is for relaxing without program, you can use it to explore the city on your own. In the afternoon you begin your city tour, in which you will visit the sun temple (Korikancha), an archaeological place that is dedicated to death. You go through the separate passages and see carved ceremonies in rock. Then we visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, which was established from enormous monoliths and also possesses stairs and doors, afterwards the fortress of Puca Pucara, with its platforms, stairs, courses and towers and Tambomachay the centre of the admiration of the water. Overnight at the hotel Picoaga. B/-/-
Day 08: Cusco - Urubamba
All day will be spent visiting the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You take the road southeast located above Cusco, and continue on until we reach Pisac, a quaint little town where on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays takes place a picturesque native market famous for the colorful handicrafts offered by the artisans. Sundays is special day of fair because you will appreciate the Mass in Quechua and will see the natives coming from the neighborhood with their typical costumes where barter is still practiced. You will continue down the Urubamba Valley through the tows of Calca and Urubamba. After lunch, you will visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the lower jungle. You can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby town, and get a good idea of what this strategic military, religious, and agricultural center was like during the era of the Inca Empire. Late afternoon return to the valley. Overnight at the Posada del Inca Yucay. B/L/-
Day 09: Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu - Inca ruins – Cusco
The day starts with an early morning rise and transfer to Ollanta station to take the train, for a ride of approximately an hour and half hour journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas", one of the best known examples of surviving Inca architecture. At a distance of 120 km (75 miles) from Cusco, in the valley of the Urubamba River, Machu Picchu lies within the spectacular framework provided by the exuberant vegetation of nearby jungle and the rugged landscape. The site is situated on the eastern slope of Machu Picchu in two different areas: the agricultural and the urban ones. Lunch at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge Restaurant. In the afternoon you return to Cusco by Vistadome train. Arrival to Poroy Station and transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel Picoaga. B/L/-
Day 10: Cusco – Lima
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Lima. Up arrival in Lima you will be taken to the Hotel El Condado. Farewell dinner in a typical restaurant in the area of Miraflores. B/-/D
Day 11: international flight
Transfer to the international airport for the return flight to the homeland or the beginning of a connecting program, for example a jungle tour, mountain climbing, trekking, etc. B/-/-
