This extraordinary adventure waits for you beyond colorful birds, exotic landscapes and an exuberant wildlife. The Jungle Discovery offers its passengers a direct contact with nature with the maximum comfort. Our service and deep knowledge about the jungle assures you an unforgettable trip.
The Yasuní National Park is the principal area of operation of our Jungle Discovery, the park was created in 1979 and covers an extension of 982 000 hectares, is the largest continental National Park in Ecuador and is specially a tropical forest located in the provinces of Orellana, Pastaza and Napo. Part of the reserve belongs to families of the Huaorani community, who have habited the park during generations.
Thanks to conservation efforts it has been declared National Park, Biosphere and Ethnic Reserve since it protects an extraordinary biodiversity with more than 4000 plant species (more than the double found in North America), and a great potential of endemics; 567 bird species registered, including the unique harpy eagle ( Harpia harpyja ). It is possible to find reptiles, amphibians in all the levels of the forest, with 83 species of amphibians and 107 species of reptiles that give Ecuador the first place of diversity in herpetofauna in Southamerica that also protects 11 frog endangered species.
The park homes more than the 85% of the total of mammals found in the Ecuadorian Amazon Region and almost the 50% of the species in all the country. There are more than 173 species including the aquatic mammals like the pink dolphin and the manatee.
Even though the existent information about insects in the area is very low, some studies show that there are more than 100 000 insect species per each 10 000 Km2, a real record.

The Yasuní National Park has other values as the wildlife, the regional, endemic and endangered diversity, potential genetic resources, the ethnic groups living in the park; it is a water reserve, it offers ecotourism practices and its value for the simple fact of existing.
