Ecuador Haciendas

This region is in the north of Quito, about a 1.5 hours drive. On each day you could visit the famous Otavalo Indio Market where you can buy artisanal made by the Otavaleños or see what the food market has to offer. Taste fruit which you never have eaten before and neither heard the name of.

Just about 45 minutes from Otavalo is the volcano Cuicocha (4.944 m), an extinct volcanic crater now filled with a deep blue lake which averages 3 km in diameter and is over 200 m deep. The two islands in the middle of the lake are resurgent volcanic cones. There is a circuit through the paramo vegetation. Or you can visit the village of Cotacachi (about 30 minutes from Otavalo) which is very famous for its quality leather products. You can also visit the waterfall of Peguche and the San Pablo Lake.
Walk around and enjoy the great landscape of this region.
