Ecuador Haciendas

In and around Quito you can also find some haciendas which will give you some peace and tranquility while exploring the old town, the Equator Monument, the parks and the life in the capital of Ecuador. You can also do excursions in the surrounding like Otavalo, Pasochoa and the Cotopaxi National Park. The thermal baths of Papallacta are about 1.5 hours from Quito and give you time to relax.

The hacienda is only a few kilometres away from the colonial part of Quito. It was built around 1730 beginning with a manor house and then leading to a large estate. It has always been a residence to the same family. Built by the Marquees of Miraflores and enlarged a century later by the Marquees of San José, the hacienda has seen a lot of the country's history happen amongst its walls.
