Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Buenos Aires
Today you will arrive at Ezeiza Internacional Airport in Buenos Aires. You will be picked up and take you to the hotel De Las Luces. The rest of the day is at your own disposal. We recommend walking along Florida Street, Santa Fe Av, Mayo Av. and visit the Traditional “Tortoni Café” -/-/-
Day 02: Buenos Aires - Bariloche
According to your flight time you will be taken to the airport. Flight to Bariloche (“The Door to Patagonia”). Upon arrival you will be taken to the Hosteria El Condado. B/-/D
Day 03: Llao Llao Mountain
In the morning you will be picked up from the hotel to start your excursion to Llao Llao Mount (half day excursion). Enjoy an amazing hiking and sightseeing experience, delighting with some of the most impressive panoramic views of North Patagonia. The hike on Mount Llao Llao is an easy walk that takes you through a beautiful forest of ancient trees to strategic panoramic points that will allow you to enjoy and take pictures of amazing panoramic views. Return to the hosteria. B/-/D
Day 04: Refugio Frey
In the morning you will leave the hotel to do the full day excursion Refugio Frey. You begin with a morning ascent via cable car or chairlift from the ski resort “cerro Catedral” with a vertical gain of 1,000m (3,300 ft.). Thereafter, a hike through mountain trails and ridges will reveal spectacular views of lake “Nahuel Huapi” and lake “Gutierrez”, mount “Tronador” and many other mountains in the valley of great splendor. Within three hours of hiking through rocky terrain and few uphill sections, passing along the way lake “Schmoll”, you will arrive at Mountain Hut Frey 1,700m (5,600 ft.) situated along the edges of lake “Toncek”. The surroundings of “Frey” are a rock climber’s paradise, a magnificent scene rich in granite rock formations. The hike down to “Frey” requires coordination skills navigating through loose and rocky terrain. In the afternoon, descend back down to “Villa Catedral” via the regular route. This three hour hike takes you through a “lenga” forest of indescribable beauty, passing along the way Mountain Hut “Piedritas” and “Van Titter” stream. Return to the hosteria. B/-/D
Day 05: Flight to Calafate
You will be picked up from the hotel in order to fly to Calafate. Upon arrival you will be taken to the hotel Los Cauquenes de Nimez Hosteria. Rest of the day is free. B/-/D
Day 06: Perito Moreno Glacier
Early in the morning, departure from the hotel to do the Perito Moreno Glacier Minitrekking (entrance to the national Park is not included. It has to be paid there.). This is one of the few glaciers that is moving. The launch sets out from the Bajo las Sombras dock. From there you follow the south wall of the Perito Moreno glacier until arriving to the opposite bank of Brazo Rico. There you start a walk on the glacier which is completely attractive due to the glacial ice, with its peaks and its little inner blue lagoons. Even more, you have a marvelous view of the glacier wall and the lake. Later, there is a half an hour stroll passing through the luxuriant Magellan woods towards the shelter where you have lunch. At about 16 o´clock you set off to return to Bajo las Sombras. Return to hotel. B/-/D
NB: This tour is not available from April to October. In this case there will be a discount of USD 88.- per person. The day is free.
Day 7: Calafate – El Chalten
Transfer to the bus station to take the regular bus to El Chalten. Arrive and transfer to the Hosteria Senderos or similar. B/-/D
Day 8: Torre Hill Trekking
You leave from the Campamento base Cerro Torre to start the Torre Hill Trekking. The Ice Trek is specially designed for those trekkers who are not in the alpinist world, but as beginners, are looking for an experience in glacier trekking accompanied by a guide. This program is offered to anyone over 15 in a good physical condition. Trekking starts and ends at Campamento base del Cerro Torre. B/-/D
Day 9: Lago del Desierto
In the morning you leave from the hosteria to do the full day excursion “Lago del Desierto”. You will drive to the Lago del Desierto and here do a lovely walk to the Laguna Huemul viewpoint. The north face of Mt. Fitz Roy, Rio de las Vueltas and the lake make a wonderful setting for the day. In the afternoon return to the hosteria. B/-/D
Day 10: El Chalten - Calafate
Transfer to take the regular bus to El Calafate. Arrival and transfer to the Hosteria Cauquenes. B/-/D
Day 11: Calafate – Puerto Natales
Transfer to the bus terminal to take the regular bus service to Puerto Natales (Chile). Here you will arrive at midday, transfer to hotel Aquaterra Lodge. B
Day 12: Glaciers – Serrano River
In the morning you will be picked up and taken to the pier. You start the navigation through the Glaciers and Serrano River. This is fluvial circuit that joins two national parks: Bernardo O’Higgins with Torres del Paine. After having walked to Serrano Glacier, there is a connection with zodiac boats that sail up Serrano River arriving to Serrano area in Torres del Paine. In the afternoon you will reach a Hosteria Las Torres. B/-/D
NB: This tour is not available from April to October. In this case there will be done a full day tour in the National Park Paine included entrance fee and box-lunch.
Day 13: The Towers
You leave the hotel to do a trekking to the base of the Towers. This is the most popular trekking excursion inside the park. The trek is on well signaled paths, with slopes that reach a difficulty of medium-high level. This is a challenge for thousands of tourists that wait feeling the climate of Patagonia up to get to the colossal towers carved on granite by the force of the nature. Return to the hosteria. B/-/D
Day 14: Free day B/-/D
Day 15: Puerto Natales – Punta Arenas
Today you will take the regular bus to Punta Arenas (via Puerto Natales). Upon arrival you will be picked up and taken to the Hotel Isla Rey Jorge. B
Day 16: Flight to Ushuaia
According to your flight time you will be taken to the airport to take the flight to Ushuaia. Upon arrival you will be picked up and taken to the Hosteria America. B/-/D
Day 17: Tierra del Fuego National Park
Departure from the hosteria to do a trekking in the Tierra del Fuego National Park (includes entrance to the national park). The excursion begins with the transfer to the National Park Tierra del Fuego. There a trekking tour starts through narrow path by the coast and some low hills, discovering how two different ecosystems coexists as the maritime coast and the Patagonian Andean forest. This long walk will allow you to get to know the flora and fauna and to discover the magic that their coasts keep, inhabited in the past by canoeist indians. Return to the hotel. B/-/D
Day 18: Escondido and Fagnano Lake
Today you start the trekking at Escondido and Fagnano Lakes Panoramic Point. The excursion begins with the transfer from the city, crossing beautiful valleys of Tierra del Fuego, you will cross glacial valleys covered by peat bogs and will stop at the most important. In this zone the winter sport activity is concentrated, becoming the large peat bogs the best areas in the world to practice Nordic ski (cross-country). Arriving to Garibaldi Pass (420 mts over the sea level) you will start the real adventure. After receiving the trekking equipment you will initiate a long walk by the Garibaldi Pass adjacent valley. You will observe beaver dams, peat bogs and all the moleta flora and fauna of the mountain. Once at the top you will have an unique view of the Fagnano and Escondido Lakes, surrounded by this landscape. Continuing the tour you will arrive to the ideal place for lunch. On the way back you will be going through a narrow path that will allow you to watch the beavers’ work. Return to the hotel. B/-/D
Day 19: Ushuaia – Buenos Aires
According to your flight time you will be taken to the airport in Ushuaia. Flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival you will be picked up and taken to the hotel. B
