The Banana Tours Ecuador - Day Tour

The main objective of the Fairtrade Banana Tour is to make visitors familiar with the Fairtrade banana production process.
The more than 300 small scale producers of Asociacion El Guabo export their best fruit (premium quality) in order to compete with the most demanding markets in Europe and the rest of the world.
The visitors will visit El Guabo farms and its packing stations, giving the tourists a unique experience on the farming of bananas. In some occasions the tourists will have the opportunity to visit the harbor and watch the shipment of bananas. Also the social and environmental programs that growing Fairtrade organic and conventional bananas involves will be addressed.
Part of the program is enjoying a regional homemade Ecuadorian meal, together with the farmer’s family, surrounded by beautiful tropical scenery.
The tour guides are very knowledgeable and full of information that will make the tour a special learning experience. Visitors will hear about the history of the banana plantations, its owners, its geographic locations, the growing methods, organic production and Fairtrade exchange, quality certifications, quality control and loading at Bolivar Port “The Banana Queen Pageant” and more. There are several options to enjoy the Banana Tour (best from Wednesday to Friday, the harvest days), although half-a-day is a short period of time to know all of our Fairtrade system:
