TRAPICHE - SALINAS DE IBARRA - TRAIN
Tour 4 days – 3 nights

Itinerary:
Day 01: Otavalo - Cotacachi - Cuicocha - La Banda
At 9 AM we pick you up from your hotel in Quito. We start our tour visiting the famous city of Otavalo, where we will do some shopping at the biggest Indian market of Latin America. Then we will visit the leather market of Cotacachi and the beautiful volcanic lake Cuicocha. Once we get hungry we will have our lunch at a typical restaurant of Atuntaqui. After this delicious lunch we will arrive to Hacienda La Banda, where we will distribute the rooms and have a walk around the Hacienda. At dusk we will visit and have a relaxing swim at the hot springs of Chachimbiro, famous from its healing powers. Welcome dinner.
Day 02: Trapiche San Ingnacio - Salinas Train – Ibarra
In the morning we will walk towards the trapiche San Ignacio (a sugar cane mill), where we will learn the old and new techniques for grinding cane. After lunch we will continue our path towards Salinas de Ibarra where we will take a ride through history in the old train to Ibarra. During the trip we will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the valley. At night we will have dinner and a short walk with torches to the lake.
Day 03: Urcupacha (shaman circuit) - Chiriacu – Asaya
In the morning we will do the SHAMAN circuit. The reason for its name is because at one of the places of the path, hundreds of shamans from all around the world gather every year to thank the Pachamama (The Mother Earth) which bless them with life. In the afternoon we will do a tractor tour and visit 2 nearby communities where we will learn about their culture and their customs. After dinner, as a farewell, we will enjoy together from the salsa and the merengue at the Latin night.
Day 04: Return to Quito
