Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Island Baltra / Punta Estrada - Divine Bay
Fly to Baltra island where our guide will pick you up and take you to the yacht. After a quick stop in Puerto Ayora and lunch on board we will move on to Punta Estrada and Bahia Divine, a calm shallow water place where rays, mullets and sharks can be seen while kayaking along the rocky coast line. Back on board: dinner and navigation to Isabela Island. -/L/D
Day 2: San Cristobal – El Junco – Galapaguera
Today you are going to visit the Lagoon of Junco, which is located on San Cristóbal Island. It is the only resource of fresh water on the whole island. Here you can observe various birds like frigate birds or Darwin finks. Furthermore you will visit San Cristobal breeding centre, called “La Galapaguera”, where you will have the possibility to get to know more about the Giant tortoises breeding efforts of the National Park; especially of the endemic species: Geochelone elephantopus Chatamensis. Day 3: San Cristobal – Leon Dormido – Puerto Grande
After a delicious breakfast you will follow the route of Charles Darwin. You will sail around the massive tuff-rock called Leon Dormido or Kicker Rock, which is a nesting site for a lot of sea birds. Because of its steepness you cannot find a landing stage but brave snorkelers can watch out for sharks and rays. Afterwards you visit the white sand beach Puerto Grande, where you can swim with sea lions or relax at the beach. B/L/D

Day 4: Floreana Island – Highlands
Today you visit Floreana Island, which is perceived as one of the most exotic Island of the archipelago. Driving through the Highlands you follow the vestiges of the Islands history. First of all you make a hike to the “Galapaguera”, tortoise breeding center, visit an old pirate’s cave and get to know the mysterious house of the Wittmer Family, famous for the Galapagos affair.

Day 5: Isabela Island - Sierra Negra
This day will lead you to the largest island of the archipelago, Island Isabela. With a surface of 4588 sq.km the isle engages more than the half of the land area of whole Galápagos. You start hiking up the volcano Sierra Negra until the edge of the crater. The volcano with its height of around 1200m and an outer diameter of ca. 9 kilometer, is the second biggest lava dome of the world. You take a walk along the crater and move on to visit volcano Chico from where you can enjoy an outstanding view over Bahia Elizabeth and Alcedo, Darwin and Wolf Island.

Day 6: Isabela Island – Las Tintoreras – The wall of tears
In the morning you will have a short boat trip through the harbor bay of Isabela. After passing sea lions and pelicans, which take a relaxing sun bath on the fishing boats there, you will reach the small island of “Tintoreras”. There you will take an easy walk through the bizarre landscape of lava with its huge colonies of sea lizards. Also a colony of sea lions is local here and often you can observe white tip sharks, resting in the flat water near the shore. Afterwards you will visit the wall of tears (Muro de las Lágrimas). This is a man-made monument which has been built in the 40s by prisoners of a panal colony.

Day 7: Santa Cruz Island – Highland – Charles Darwin Station
Today you anchor at the harbour of Puerto Ayora on Island Santa Cruz. Beside its rank as homestay for sea lions and pelicans, the marina is a popular starting point for round-the-world-yachtsman. The island itself has come to be both touristic and scientific center of the archipeleago. You will visit the highlands of Santa Cruz. The lush landscape there is a welcome contrast to the arid scenery of the smaller, lower islands. On your way you will cross the different zones of vegetation, from the dry lower region full of cactuses to the woods of scalesia in the highlands. The Charles Darwin Research Station and the Galapagos National Park offices are based on Santa Cruz Island. The station encompasses an information centre, a museum, a library and a tortoise breeding station. Here you will have an opportunity to visit some of the best scientists of the Galápagos. Park rangers and park managers among others, who make huge efforts to preserve this Unesco World Heritage Site, conduct the conservation of the islands. In the tortoise breeding and rearing centre you can encounter tortoises of different subspecies, which are prepared for reintroduction to their natural habitats. The most popular inhabitant of this Station is probably Lonesome George. He is the only survivor of his specific turtle species. In the past all approaches to find a partner for him failed. But in July 2008 the scientists found a carved nest wit nine eggs from a female tortoise. Three of them could be saved and now accordingly to strict instructions they are incubated syntheticly. B/L/D
Day 8: Santa Cruz Island – Gemelos / Departure
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport. On your way, you will visit the twin crater Caldera de los Gemelos, which are known for their diversity of ca. 300 different fern species and the close by “forest” of sunflowers. Upon arrival in Baltra you will be taken to the airport in order to fly back to the mainland. B/-/-
