At the Las Cascadas Jungle Lodge, your 4-day and 3- night Amazon tour will be centered on excursions on which you and your group — accompanied by an indigenous guide — will explore the trails, lagoon and rivers of the Amazon rainforest just outside the door. Here, the biodiversity will amaze you! On this adventure tour in Ecuador, you will walk through a pristine rainforest gallery that is home to 1,500 species of trees, hundreds of climbing vines, and exotic flowers, as well as 550 species of tropical birds, 13 species of monkeys and 1,000 species of beautiful butterflies.
“I had a great trip with the liveabord at Agressor II, everything was just perfect, the boat, the trip, the team and the dives. I would like to thank for all the support from Surtrek team.”
AM/PM: Leaving your hotel in Quito in the morning, you will reach the Las Cascadas Lodge in the late afternoon or early evening.
AM: We will start the day with a breakfast consisting of a variety of the local fruits that underline the exoticism of the surroundings. Afterwards, we will hike to the beautiful waterfalls of Las Cascadas. The local guide, who will accompany you, will inform you about the plants and wildlife found in this pristine region, and, if you're lucky, you'll see hummingbirds, bats, frogs and possibly armadillos. Take your swimwear because you’re sure to have a chance to bathe in the natural pools below the falls.
PM: Later, we will visit a local community, where we will lunch and learn something about the local community projects. You will also have the option of participating in a replanting program aimed at preventing deforestation. When we return to the lodge, you can relax in a hammock on the veranda and possibly enjoy a well-deserved tropical cocktail. In the evening we will end the day around a blazing campfire.
Full Day: Today you can enjoy a full day at leisure for personal exploration of the tropical rainforest and the moss-covered trees that surround the lodge. Over and over again you will see orchids, bromeliads and heliconias flowers that attract many birds and butterflies, as well as bring color to the dark green forest. In the early evening, weather permitting, you will have the opportunity to take a guided walk through the lodge’s grounds to seek out some of the nocturnal inhabitants of the jungle. Once back at the lodge, we will enjoy a traditional Ecuadorian barbecue.
AM: After breakfast, you will head out on your return trip to Quito or onward.
