The Amazon is the world’s largest and densest rainforest with the greatest plant and animal diversity in any other jungle in the world! Situated in the particularly beautiful Ecuadorian Amazon, the Yachana Eco-lodge is an award-winning ecotourism destination that inspires thousands of international and national visitors each year.
As the lodge is located deep in the jungle on its own 2,500-acre rainforest reserve, you will have a greater chance of seeing the rainforest’s most exotic wildlife – including armadillos, honey bears, sloths, tapirs, many different types of monkeys, boars, and ocelots. And in nearby lagoons, you may even see manatees and caimans.
Choose from 4-day or 5-day all-inclusive packages, and you’re in for an unforgettable introduction to the world of the tropical rainforest. Activities include guided hikes through the rainforest of the Yachana Ecological Reserve, river rafting, nocturnal safaris, early morning birding and exotic wildlife tours, blowgun practice, a visit to the home of a local shaman for a traditional spiritual cleansing ceremony, and more.
Completely rebuilt, this upscale eco-lodge’s 14 cabins provide spectacular views of the Napo River, in addition to porches with hammocks, comfortable furniture and private bathrooms. The lodge as a whole was built by hand using local materials and local labor.
Today the lodge continues to employ local staff from adjacent communities or from the Yachana Foundation's educational programs, which helps to support local business practices and provides tangible benefits to the local communities.
