This 27-meter-long (90 feet) Mississippi-style riverboat is a unique way to explore the Napo River. The Manatee Amazon Explorer was specially built for travel in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest, offering 14 double cabins with air conditioning, private bathrooms and hot water. On board, you’ll find a spacious dining room, a comfortable bar and lounge, and a sun terrace.
All tours on the Manatee Amazon Explorer are led by bilingual guides, and the food and service are among the best the Amazon rainforest has to offer. Each day the guests will take excursions from the Manatee Amazon Explorer by motorized canoe and return to find the riverboat at its new mooring.
The Manatee Amazon Explorer will cruise along the Napo River, allowing you to visit several of the Ecuadorian Amazon’s national reserves. The Manatee’s flexibility to change its itinerary in the case of bad weather means that its guests will not miss out on any wildlife-spotting opportunities because of heavy rain.
The vessel features three decks:
The boat has the capacity to accommodate up to 30 passengers in 14 appealing double, double-twin and single-twin cabins. Each cabin is equipped with air conditioning, closets, a private bathroom complete with a special shower massage, hot and cold water, 24-hour electricity and 110-voltage outlets and switches.
The Manatee Amazon Explorer is also equipped with a small fleet of motorized canoes that provide unlimited mobility and allow for the exploration of the most remote areas and inaccessible shores.
The vessel itself is comfortable and complies with both national and international navigation standards — as well as those relating to safety, security and environmental protection. The Manatee is certified by Smart Voyager and the Rainforest Alliance, entities that guarantee the sustainability of the vessel’s operations.
