“My parent wanted to go to Peru and see Machu Picchu, Titicaca lake and Nazca Lines. Surtrek made a perfect customized plan for them. ”
After being welcomed with a fresh lei of flowers at Mataveri Airport, on Easter Island, you will be driven to your selected hotel to relax and get a good night’s sleep for your adventures ahead.
Following breakfast at your hotel, we will go on a full-day trip to the east coast of the island. We will start with an excursion to the Akahanga Temple, and then visit the extinct Rano Raraku Volcano, followed by a stop at the quarry where moai statues were once made. After enjoying a picnic-style lunch, we will visit the Tongariki Ahu, which is the largest ahu (altar) in Polynesia, with its 15 restored statues. The tour continues with a visit to Te Pito Kura, a destroyed platform that contains the largest moai on Easter Island, though it is currently lying on the ground. On one side of this ahu is a large round stone known as the “Energy Rock,” given its special magnetism. After visiting the last platform of Ahu Nau Nau, we will finish our mystical journey on the beautiful Anakena Beach. You will then be driven back to your hotel to unwind and spend the night.
After breakfast at your hotel, we will go on a morning excursion, first to the Tahai ceremonial complex and then to the Rano Kau, a dormant volcano located on the southwestern tip of the island. Inside the volcano, you will find a lake brimming with lush vegetation. We will continue with a visit to the village and ceremonial temple of Orongo, where annual competitions were held to elect the chief of the island, the “Tangata Manu” (birdman). In the afternoon, the tour will proceed to Ahu Vinapu and to Puna Pau, a quarry on the hills of Rano Kau. This is where pukaos (hat-like red volcanic ash structures worn by the moais) were once made. We will then visit Ahu Riata and Ahu Akivi, an altar consisting of the only seven moais whose eyes are fixed on the sunset over the ocean. Later, we will return you to your hotel for the night.
Following your breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven back to Mataveri Airport for your flight back to Santiago de Chile.

“I want to thank you for arranging a perfect tour for me. I know you did not have control over who the other people would be, but it all, on all fronts, was perfect. The itinerary was sensational and the boat fabulous.”
