AM: In the morning, you will fly from Quito or Guayaquil (on the Ecuadorian mainland) to Baltra Island, the main point of entrance to this natural paradise and situated in the heart of the Galapagos archipelago. Upon your arrival at the airport, you will need to pay the national park entry fee, which goes to protecting both the Galapagos National Park and Marine Reserve. A member of the Finch Bay/Surtrek team will then welcome you and accompany you to the Finch Bay Hotel.
PM: After checking in and unpacking, you will find that the stunning pool deck and hammocks throughout the property are especially great places to relax and unwind before enjoying your Cordon Bleu dinner.
AM/PM: Sometimes we want an active vacation, while other times, the best vacation is one in which we just lie back and enjoy the best of what our surroundings have to offer. Or we can choose to combine both. Today is a full day at your own leisure at Finch Bay, where the hotel offers many opportunities to explore the archipelagos the land and sea wonders on daily yacht or land excursions. Alternatively, you might prefer to just take it easy, relaxing in the pool lounge or digging our bare toes into the sand just steps away from your room. However you decide to spend your day, in the evening you can sip a cocktail at the bar or indulge with fine dining at the hotel’s renowned restaurant, and end your day with a massage or watch as the stars illuminate the night sky with constellations from both the northern and southern hemispheres.
AM/PM: Today will be another full day at your leisure to enjoy the Galapagos as you choose. The hotel’s central location means you can enjoy a walk on the beach or a short stroll to Las Grietas. Then too, you can always explore the town of Puerto Ayora. In this village, you’re sure to find a little something to entertain you, as it’s home to a number of small cafes, boutiques and nightclubs. Looking for even more contact with the locals? You can check out everyday life at the farmer’s market on Saturdays or visit the fisherman’s wharf any day of the week. Plus, you can watch the sea lions, who are always around the dock looking to sample the day’s catch. You can even opt to cruise to another island on board the hotel's very own Sea Lion Yacht!
AM: We can leave the hotel early in the morning excursion to the twin Los Gemelo crater sinkholes in the highlands. Concluding this amazing experience in the Galapagos Islands, you will then be transferred to the Baltra Island airport for your return flight to the Ecuadorian mainland. Enjoy your last look back at the “enchanted islands,” a unique paradise with inspiring natural wonders.
