An Unforgettable Liveaboard Diving with M/Y Galapagos Master

Having undergone a complete interior refit to the highest luxury standards, the 32-meter M/Y Galapagos Master (formerly christened the “Deep Blue” built in 2004) re-launched in May 2015.

The Galapagos Master motor yacht accommodates 16 divers on each liveaboard trip, maximizing safety and comfort for all guests aboard! Offering both 7-night and 10-night dive trips, each cruise will spend a minimum of three (3) days around Darwin and Wolf Islands, as well as offering land excursions during the itinerary.

The yacht features eight (8) air-conditioned cabins spread across three decks, with each cabin offering stunning views of the Galapagos archipelago. Each cabin has its own private en-suite bathroom with hot water, in-cabin entertainment and ample storage space for all personal belongings. Adding to the convenience and flexibility, the ship’s cabins can be used as either twin or double-bedded rooms.

The communal areas available to guests include a spacious indoor lounge on the middle deck. Relax and unwind from your day’s diving while watching your latest underwater shots or your favorite movie on the Galapagos Master’s flat screen television. Enjoy the tantalizing array of mouthwatering meals served up in the indoor dining area, which is complemented by the adjacent cocktail bar.

Photographers can take full advantage of the indoor camera set-up station, which includes multiple charging points (US round-pin plug). Additional storage drawers to the aft of the yacht mean that even photography charter groups will have no problem finding enough space for their equipment!

The dive equipment set up is found on the aft deck of the lower level, while individual set-up areas come with under-bench storage for divers’ personal items. Rinse tanks are conveniently located for washing dive equipment and camera gear, and there are two (2) showerheads for those wanting a quick post-dive rinse. An additional two (2) deck heads are situated on the starboard side of the boat, just in front of the salon entrance.

For those who enjoy relaxing in the sun, there is the top-level sundeck and an upper-level bow area with additional cushioned loungers provided for your comfort. Guests are free to take advantage of the gangways on both the port and starboard sides to walk around the yacht or visit the captain in his bridge on the upper deck. The crew and staff consist of 11 crewmembers, including two dive masters/naturalist guides, while the language spoken on board the yacht are English and Spanish.

The steel yacht is steadier than most due to its lower design, which aids stability and speed. The boat has an official license issued by the Ecuadorian government and the National Institute of the Galapagos to operate and organize diving activities in the Galapagos. This certification ensures that the ship has passed all safety tests as well as complies with the strict environmental rules of the marine park. With all the latest safety devices — GPS, VHF radios, satellite communication, two life rafts, emergency oxygen and AED — you will know you are traveling with the fullest protection and safeguards.
