This 6-day/5/night journey on board the Skorpios II will carry you through the ice fields of Chile’s northern Patagonia, where you can visit majestic fiords and witness some of the world's largest glaciers outside of the Polar Regions. The cruise covers 800 miles for a magical encounter with the age-old ice formations of the San Rafael Glacier as you sail through astounding archipelagos, channels and gulfs in this rarely visited section of the world. Here, you can spot Humpback and Blue whales from the ship’s deck, and go ashore to find an abundance of Magellanic penguins and other species of Patagonian wildlife. Traveling on the Skorpios II, you will lift anchor from the seaside city of Puerto Montt to begin one of the most scenic voyages in Chilean waters. En route, you will have the opportunity to visit the Chiloe Archipelago, as well as experience the scenic and virtually unknown fishing villages of Puerto Aguirre, Castro and others. You will also be able to enjoy the hot-spring thermal baths of Quitralco, located along the route to the San Rafael Glacier. Finally reaching this massive body of solid ice, you will discover that it still conserves the magic of the natural environment, which is why San Rafael Glacier is indisputably one of the most beautiful landscapes in Chile.
